Feeling Beauty

Consider a big house consisting of luxurious, unique, decorative, expensive, lavish things। Considering these facts, can we say the interior of the house is beautiful? I think most of us will have the view that, having decorative and other elegant things adds to the beauty of the interiors only when there is proper blend among them. Now think a situation when we go for mobile shopping. The things which worry us at that time are mobile’s functions, cost, and unquestionably its look. We will esteem the mobile’s look that we purchase as long as it behaves as anticipated. If suppose, one of the functions stops working properly, are we still going to value its look? I think I will certainly not, my precedence at that point will be its proper functioning. If we have some of the attributes such as good looking face, fair color, nice hair, suitable height, and other attributes that we associate with beauty, will these things make us beautiful? I think definitely it will enhance our personality. But to be practical, very few people have these things in an apposite way, and even who have some of these attributes, not many do justice to it. I don’t understand why at one particular moment someone looks beautiful and at other point of time not so. The person is same on both occasions, but the feeling is different, why? Does the face changes, or the hairstyle, or the height, or some other attributes? I don’t know which attribute most impact this change of feeling. But let me figure this out.

I think people who are fortunate enough to get natural beauty on their side as a gift of GOD certainly have an advantage over others। Only having beauty features will not completely help to be beautiful। Other things also go into this to make someone beautiful, such as how a person carries himself/herself in the crowd, sense of humor, nature, enthusiasm, smile and many more things। But among these I think the most important aspects after virtual beauty is confidence and energy level one has। People who are gifted with nice look and other +ve attributes will definitely feel confident about themselves। So these faction people don’t have to bother about confidence. These individuals from childhood have been complimented for their looks, hair, and …….things. Confidence comes into picture for individuals who are not bequeathed with this nature’s gift. I think everyone has the right to feel good about their personality, and should be always confident about their presence. If one doesn’t admire himself/herself then who is going to do this? The first thing to feel or to be beautiful, one should think he/she is beautiful. One should feel proud to be unique then others. Nature has given every individual unique features, and we should respect this. We have to be comfortable with all the personal features we have got. If something is their that troubles us, say hairstyle, and then we should take appropriate steps to change it, to make us feel better. If we are not comfortable with ourselves then how come others will feel so? We have to try only those things that makes us feel better, say dressing in our own way, this will surely make us project ourselves in a positive manner. If we show confidence in us, people will certainly do this at some point of time. You might be wondering what the connection between confidence and beauty is. Let me explain, if we are not confident of our looks, we will project ourselves in an unsure manner. People will hardly find anything different in us. They will take us in the same way as they do daily.
We mostly appreciate someone’s beauty at rare moments. I want to know why the person is being cherished on rare occasions, and not always. I think the reason for this might be that on rare occasions the person might have the superior combination of dress, hairstyle, and looks (along with energy level on face, since looks are typically going to be the same), body projection , and some other attributes which we can think of. Whether other people think us beautiful or not is other issue, first we have to feel that we are beautiful with confidence. If we love our presence then only we are going present ourselves in an energetic way full of confidence. The main idea that I want to project through this blog is that one should best about himself/herself, and project their existence in the best possible way within their confines.

Stock Market: Adding New Dimensions To Life

Sitting in the bus waiting for Powai to come where my company is located. Again the same thoughts mingling in the mind, what to carry out today? Is there something on the net, which can make me engrossed for a few hours? What to converse with friends, the same old addiction of criticizing things around, or boast myself in the crowd, or some other obsession? But these thoughts are not unwarranted; they are occurring since my project has reached to the culmination, where very few things are left to be done. So, not much work, but the thing, which is common everyday, is 8 hours in office that has to be sent off. As my daily routine I take my seat, sit down, start PC, and then marvel what next? Means, what was next in the line up for today’s activities, before this thought takes the pinnacle position in my mind there is call from somewhere, “cafeteria”. On hearing this, feels like someone has quietly heard my inner call and came for rescue. So, the day goes like this from cafeteria to my seat and vice versa, sometimes via giving my time to the neighboring cubicles. But this daily routine irks me.
Along with the above-mentioned things, one more thing is common, that are the activities going on my friend’s PC, who sits next to me. On his PC mostly two things takes center stage, one is Siebel’s Tool and Client Application, and the other untried thing for me was Moneycontrol.com.
I used to wonder how he gets glued to the mentioned site whenever time permitted him. I thought that till now I haven’t encountered a site that fascinates me this much. I wanted to know the actual thrust that he experiences for this phenomenon. I thought to find out the reason behind the so-called phenomenon, and the most excellent way to find this was to experience this myself. So I along with my other friend, who sits in the cubicle behind mine, decided to open the DMat Account. Fortunately for him his account opened within 25 days. He also started behaving relatively as the same way as the earlier one. But ICICI bank wanted to test my endurance, so it took almost 40 days for my account to open.
Finally after long wait the day had come for me to experience the actual basis for the so-called phenomenon. But like earlier scenario except the culprit wasn’t ICICI, it was the sensex that hindered me from buying shares. Each day I would come thinking sensex will drop and I would get the opportunity to buy shares. But sensex was trying to show me how to motivate one to touch unimaginable altitudes in life by its display of achieving innovative heights. Sensex surged to 16000, 17000, 18000, and finally 19000 within a span of few weeks. I came to office with optimism and went back restlessly. Finally I thought enough is enough, and I am not going to wait as a spectator witnessing sensex to lay its hand on 20000. I wanted to be a part of this experience. And when the market was at its peak, within 2 days I procured shares worth Rs. 40000. Really in quest for finding one solution, I inadvertently indulged myself in interminable activity.
Within few days of my purchase, the market collapsed to a great depth as if it wanted to teach me an old lesson that everything in life has two facets. I truly wondered how to react to this unpredictable behavior of the sensex. But one thing, which I wanted to find out, what was distinctive in moneycontrol.com vanished from my thoughts, since I myself started to use this site frequently without knowing the drive behind it.
Earlier, the day went without any excitement, adventure, and ideas, but this new experience gave me new dimensions to enjoy life, along with its multifaceted distinctiveness. Although, I have lost around Rs. 2700 (momentarily), but this is a very small price to pay for the experience which I have witnessed and hopefully it will continue to bring the same enthusiasm in me in future.

The First Impression

Plenty of thought goes everyday in our mind, they usually depend upon our day to day activities. In these, we think how to tackle our problems, do analysis, and infer judgment. One of the thought processes which everyone is part of is First Impression. Our thought process is in constant build up to the existing one since the day we are born. Primarily they are reliant upon our family background, social interaction, religious faith, friend circle etc. When we come across a new thing, we start to gather our thoughts related to that particular thing, and then we start making connections between the thoughts that come up. Then organize them properly to generate a conclusion or inference that is known as first impression for that thing. It is unique for every individual. Identical thing goes when we develop our first intuition for different people with whom we meet for the first instance. It is a very multifaceted build up of thoughts and inferences.

I think it is very important in our life, since it decides how one is going to interact with the person after meeting for the first time. The manner in which we will present ourselves speak, show gestures, listen, and respond will all depend upon the initial impression which we have built. It all goes well if the person behaves as we think. But the predicament arrives when the person starts behaving in the inadvertent manner. And I think, most of the time this is the circumstance. Then, what is the conclusion for above explanation? If we construe the person in a mistaken way then we are definitely not going to have good rapport with him/her. Take the example of Shahid Afridi, in his first ODI innings he scored the fastest century (37 balls), and till now this records hold. After watching this inning most us might have concluded that he is going to be a great player. But, the people who follow cricket closely might have seen his technique of batting, his approach while facing different line and length balls. After that, they would have concluded that he treats every ball in the same way, and this not going to help him in a long run. And this is what it turned out. I have cited above example to stress out the fact that it is not true that our interpretation is always going to be correct. Since we always see things, perceive, and draw conclusions depending upon over thoughts, observations. Our thoughts are not universal that will hold true for everyone.

I don’t say we are incorrect, since we can’t interpret what other think, or articulating in a different way, it is out of our scope to do so. But we have to be versatile in our thinking. Once we make our impression for a person, then we must be ready to amend it after later interactions with the person. This will modify our inferences in a better way in knowing the person.

Are We In Reality The World Champions?

India became Twenty-20 Champion recently; this gave almost all the Indians a reason to rejoice. This triumph unlocked the door of awards for the cricketers. Cash prizes were being bestowed on these players in such a way that made me comprehend that they have done a thing that no Indian have ever reached closer to this in sports. Cricket is professionally played in England, NewZeland, West Indies, Australia, Bangladesh, South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and obviously India. In England, generally old people follow cricket, reading newspaper and watching cricket. In New Zealand generally people don’t recognize cricketers. In West Indies cricket is fading against basketball, football and baseball. In South Africa, people usually come to stadium not to watch cricket but to enjoy the sunlight. Out of Sub-Continent only in Australia cricket is followed up to a certain level. Then who observes the matches that take place? Without doubt they are the people from Sub-Continent, and mostly Indians. Then what is the fuss about this achievement? Leaving Australia, New Zealand and England, there is no other country that ranks in top 30 in world sports plays cricket. A short time prior to this accomplishment, our hockey team won the Gold medal, being unbeaten in the recently concluded tournament, which involved Asian teams. I think, that most of us might not know about this, since, leaving cricket we don’t have time for other sports. Subsequent to 1996 Atlanta Olympics, one headline flashed in the most acknowledged newspaper of USA that stated, “Population nearly 1 billion, but no gold medal”. When I heard this news in our local news channels I was really taken a back, and this made me realize that we stand nowhere in sports arena. Countries like Germany, Japan, Poland, Norway, S Korea, Belarus, Italy, France, Cuba, Hungary and many more, which position no where in population and size contrasted to ours, but they rank in top 15 countries in sports. What they have which we don’t? I think answer for this question has to be found out very soon.

Let me throw some light over this question’s answer from my point of view. Most of us might argue that we don’t have sports infrastructure that can counterpart the countries revealed earlier. Take example of Kenya, Ethiopia, Morocco and Nigeria, all of them don’t enjoy even the basic amenities like water, electricity, better education, better medical facilities and the list continues, but then also they are able to produce paramount athletes in the long running events. Take Cuba, they hardly have anything better then us, if measured with economy, technology, and basic infrastructure. But then, they produce finest boxers in the world. Asafa Powel comes from a tiny Caribbean island of Jamaica, and he is the fastest athlete in the world. How come Iran is better then us? The country encircled by factional war and receding financial system. How come Irakh won the Asian football competition lately held? Everyone knows what the condition of Irakh is at present. Do we say we are physically not as good as the Europeans or Americans? Then the S Koreans and Japanese should be standing way behind us, but this is not the case. Ukraine, Romania and Kazakhstan, where they locate in global economy or any other major global activities? But they have the top gymnasts and weight lifters in the world. There are myriad examples for me to state, but this out of scope, pointing out here.

The only thing hampering us from realizing great success in sports from my view is our attitude towards sports. We perceive, take pleasure in, feel and converse is only cricket. Cricket nowhere stands if compared with number of countries playing this game; consider football, basketball, volleyball that is played generally by all countries. Athletics, gymnastics and swimming are the vital events in other countries. We have to acknowledge other sports if it has to grow in our country. Cricket is remote from being a universal sport. It is just the outlook that has to be changed towards other sports. They want followers, recognition, money, TV coverage to tempt promising citizens take the game as a profession. This will certainly help encouraging parents permitting their children to attain something in sports. This will automatically thrust sports authorities to build infrastructure for these sports. It will be just a matter of time before we begin producing world class professionals in sports as we do in education. I look forward to to see India being in the top 10 in the Olympics medal tally. Finally, it is up to us to realize this aspiration.

Hate or Not to Hate

We, in life come across people having different characteristics. The personality that I admire the most is that one which we hate to the ultimate limit. Because these are the people with their distinctive features, always give us something to talk about. I think there is no occasion in which they can’t be included. We hate them & just hate them and no other activity we associate with them. In other terms, we think they are born to be hated. I don’t know the person whom we hate ever identifies this or even when he knows gives minuscule importance. I think he might be thinking that if people get satisfaction hating him then he is comfortable with this phenomenon. Since, there is at least one quality in him that makes people feel happy. Even if he does something great that needs to be applauded, we just turn this achievement into a great opportunity for us to once again hate him. And this time with much more passion and zeal so that his achievement gets negated. We just think that he can never do a thing correctly and the best we can do for him is to hate. I don’t know what precisely is the element in him that forces us to do so.

In college days, I used to think that it is very hard to grade people into categories. Since, human are very complex and infinite things aggregate to form them. But this perception didn’t last long. Now, I am able to figure out people into three categories. Manageable- it is the fist category and this belongs to personalities which doesn’t attract me. But they are people with whom I can carry out day to day activities with slight issues. These people are fairly self centric in their ideas, constantly stuck up with their own observations and perceptions. They sometimes make me feel that they don’t belong to this category, but in some other instance they exactly do things they should be doing to be in this group.

Good- Just bunch of people who know what they are and do things what they must be doing. They always try that no actions of theirs harm anyone. They care about others feelings etc.

Tremendous- The category I like the most is this. If I have to divide people in to above 3 categories then 40% may fall into Manageable, 58%-may fall into Good and 2% - may fall in to this category. This shows that how much importance these people carry. They do things differently that no one else can do. They are trendsetters. They enjoy doing things with their own uniqueness. They are part of most of the chatting going around whether in their flavor or against them. One thing is their, one gets fame either doing great things or doing most insignificant things differently. This category people accomplish things using one of the above methods. They are admired by most of us in any way that doesn’t matter, even if we hate. They never change their way implementing things, whether it be conducting meetings or motivating others. They have the feeling that they are making difference in every field and also make everyone feel same. If not by actions then with words and gestures. They just want to be recognized and applauded and promoted. They see no one close to them. They want everyone to behave like them so that it may help everyone to be better. They want to make things happen, if not by actions then with things that are not remotely connected to it. They think that they have the best logic of understanding things and helping others. They don’t have any quality that GOD hasn’t blessed them.

Is there something called TRUTH?

Can one define what truth is? Let me define this, it is a statement or combination of statements that describes an actual incident or incidents exactly with every word having no vagueness. After hearing truth, no one should deny that it is incorrect. Let us take one statement, India is my country. Can I say this statement is true? From individuals standpoint it is absolutely fine. But, if we say country can not belong to one individual, then that statement will not be termed as a truth. Taking another example, if I tell, the value of pi is 3.14, then some will agree with this and others will say that its value is 3.14….. up to infinity. So, what is the conclusion citing above examples? Simply to state that something said may be true in one mental picture and false from others. I think truth can be perfectly described taking the example of congruent triangles. Two triangles are said congruent if and only if one placed over the other completely overlaps it. So a particular thing should be true from any observation we see it. But I think this is impossible. So giving practical example of truth in our life I will take the example of two triangles that are similar. This simply means that diverse people can see a particular thing in different ways but overall they will resemble a common idea just like two similar triangles whose area may differ and lengths also, but they will look similar.

I will consider truth definition as mentioned latter. In friend circle, speaking truth will result respect. The person speaking truth will be admired by most of the friends. His words will get credence in a discussion. Just summarizing, I think, truth in day to day life generally fetches respect.

Using truth as a weapon in corporate world will certainly back fire. I think there is no such thing called truth or lie in this C world. What makes the difference is the proper blend of truth and lie. To succeed in this C world, it is very important to be superior in this deception. Because this trickery is a double edged, that can help one as well as put someone into despair. Better not to use if not confident. It involves lot of judgment and practice and much more to have mastery over this art. But this will surely forfeit in a long run.

As a person, I think, truth and lie are a matter of individual’s perception. Finally what matters is what one feels after saying something. If one is telling lie and he knows that it is not going to have negative effect on anyone, then there is no issue why one can’t say lie under this circumstance. I think one can either use truth or lie in his day to activities in such way that people feel he is telling truth. But this should be done considering one fact, that the latter opinion should last forever without any negative outcome. Finally, I think, people who enjoy their life actually know the importance of above discussed terms, and when and where to use them.

We or Politicians?

Starting this blog with the dictionary meaning of politics- The art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs. But, the foremost thing that comes to my mind, hearing politics is corruption, forgery, deception and many more things correlated to this. The first time I actually got confronted by politics term was during the death of Rajiv Gandhi. But the actual instance, I started to think about politics was only when the scam occurred involving the then PM Narsimha Rao. Due to this, the actual thought process concerning politics started in me on an appalling note. In near future there was no other imperative incident that may grip my imagination. But after some years, once again there was flashy news on TV channels about a scam (Chaara Ghotala) involving Bihar CM Laloo Prasad Yadav. This incident facilitated to cultivate the mindset in me that politics is all about corrupt people and their corruption. After this incident I started regularly updating myself with current affairs. At that time, in news, most of the times politicians were associated with corrupt charges against them, and these things started making me sense that politicians are born to be corrupt, and they have no moral or ethical values. I think most of us believe the same. Most of us think politics is a dirty game of our politicians to accomplish their self-centered goals.

Above chronological events made me initially think that corruptions and politics are only associated with government and uneducated politicians. But the first time this thought’s root got shaken was when I witnessed how 3 friends, who used to be together each day for three years, were opponents for obtaining the General Secretary post in our Engg College. They were playing deceptive games against each other, to get hold of the votes of our class. I was astonished and did not know how to respond at these unusual events. I had the feeling that people who were illiterate, ignorant and having other negative traits only qualified for these types of deceptive games. But the real moment experience showed me the truth, when something is on stake, and more number of people competing for a particular thing, then feeling of deception, forgery, selfishness, achievement, egoism, hatred in their different forms gets developed in some competing members.

After the above-mentioned experience, there were lots of opportunities to notice number of proceedings, confirming my belief as mentioned above. Now I see how a small thing, if seen from a broader perspective, makes so many people go crazy to achieve it. In life things which carry very negligible significance become an immense thing to achieve at a particular point in life. Let’s take an example of captainship in our national team, there are number of examples that have come up in news in past years that reflects the controversies revolving around this position. The genuine thing I want to bring out by this blog is the disparity in the politics played by politicians and by people like us. First, let us take the politicians of our country. Most of these come from uneducated and miserable financial circumstances. Most of them don’t have graduation under their belt. Somehow these people get into politics and earn some valuable position. After getting this position they are exposed to enormous amount of money at their disposal. Since, they have never seen this much money, so they don’t know how to handle this much money. Also, this is a huge opportunity for them to make their bank balance strong. Most of us want to make money in life, so they also want the same. They find this the best way to make money. This results in corruption. Now let us take our example, we in life get number of opportunities to grow in life and make money and other things such as prestige. But some people for negligible things in life get into deceiving games. They think that getting these things in life will make their life pleasurable. But this behavior once indulged becomes the part of their life and never separates from them. In long run one finds that he hasn’t got in life what he sought for.

Finally I want to mention in politics there are lots of thing on stake, such as prestige, huge money, huge follower base, etc. They can even become immortal by virtue of their actions. But in our case there is no point in life where even slightest fraction of above mentioned things are involved. Then also there are people among us who get involved in politics to get their job done. We say we are literate citizen and never compare ourselves with politicians who are unethical, illiterate, etc. So, who are the bigger politicians, we or our actual politicians?

Being a Grown Up

Whether, I am living life or just living for the sake of it, I don’t know. Today, the solitary thing I miss the most is my childhood. During my school days I always wanted to be a grown up. I thought being adult will make me free from all restrictions, which I never liked. In those early days, I wanted to live life on my own terms, without any confines. I wanted to explore myself and the things around me. I thought the thing that most hindered to this thought was precincts put on me by my parents, teachers and elders. I wanted to do things which I liked, not knowing whether it will fetch fine result or not. I wanted to play, be with my friends, travel and many more things. I had the insight that the thing which blocked me from doing all these things was my childhood. Due to this I wanted to be a grown up.

Finally I have grown up, and witnessing the difference. The things which never impacted me earlier, are taking center stage in my thinking. The things which I believed to be very minute are now seeming enormous. Now, I have started to think about others, but not for their cause, but what they might be thinking about me. Earlier, I used to take pleasure in every moment in whichever form they came. Now, time goes by, without knowing what to do. So many thoughts revolving around all the time, but I don’t know what to accomplish using them, or speaking in other phrase, why they are occurring in my mind? Earlier I used to live without thinking about past and never thought what future might have in store for me. But today almost each thought has some linkage to future. I don’t know why, but it is. I have now become very cautious, very defensive. Earlier I was always ready to take bold decisions, but now I have to think, and even more, have suspicion over it. Today I doubt my abilities.

The above differences show that, I have forgotten how to enjoy life. How to take each moment in life and do justice to it. I have distracted myself from me. I have stopped myself being me. There are apprehensions in whatever I do. My mind is blocked with things that don’t add to my happiness, and then also I think over them. Why I am here I don’t know, but I have to find out something to make some significance to the fact that I am here. I can’t live life like this, just thinking and thinking about extraneous things. There are so many wonderful things to do around me, and I am blocked with my concerned thoughts. Nature is there with all its bounty and I am abstaining myself from it. But I have to change for better, and also in quick time. There is very less time, and so much to explore and enjoy. I have to control my thinking, give away all extraneous thoughts, be in present, and think about present. Face each day with novel enthusiasm and passion. Live life as it comes, change myself accordingly. Each day I am trying to be better, but I am failing, but I know I have to try, since there are no other options. I know I will succeed in this endeavor.

Is India Really a Developing Nation?

We sometimes ridicule our country saying that India doesn’t have suitable infrastructure, literacy and other so called developed countries facets. Have we done a profound search and evaluated ourselves with others in every sense? I don’t know how many of us have ever given a thought. Let me contrast India against America with my approach. Today, America is known as the super power of the world. America got their independence on July 4, 1776, over 231 years ago. In 1776 America’s population might had been around 4 million. As we all know, America is sanctified with all kind of natural resources one can think of. America being such a vast country with all its sanctified natural resources was perfectly positioned for growth after independence. Around 4 million population, blessed with the majority of natural resources were very conducive for a great nation in making. Nothing similar to religion or caste system predicament was their. Constitution forming members were having very less problems to consider before framing it. No pressure of defense, since there was no country surrounding them, which can intimidate. It has taken a 231 years to build today’s America. Also adding to this, there was no other element to consider such as poverty, drought, irrigation, illiteracy etc that they had to consider. They utilized the whole 231 years tenure to develop and nothing else to consider. In this period they were able to develop fantastic education system with number of world class universities, providing American citizens exposure to modern scientific thinking, in those days. They were able to develop apposite network of transportation system that included roads, railways and later airways. Now the population of America is around 300 million, they all can reap the benefit of appropriate planning and natural favor that they have got in the past 231 years, they have nothing to start from square one.

Enough of America, let us take our position, where we stand with developed countries from my point of view. 60 years back India got independence, compared to America, it is 171 years less. Our population at that time was around 330 million, compared to America it was 8250% more, and furthermore, even now America’s population is less. Number of religion prevails here, with copious caste systems in them. During independence India was partitioned, that assured us of one more threat to our defense along with China. British ruled us for more than 100 years, and in this many years they have exploited us in every domain. We lost precious years of development due to this. Preceding British, Mughals subjugated and oppressed us for centuries, starting from 1526 when Babur invaded us. There was no field in which we got head start after independence. With population over 330 million, defense concerns, poverty on the increase, lack of education institutions, scientific backwardness and many more things made us vulnerable before start. During constitution framing number of issues had to be taken into account. With so many problems and paltry forex reserve, India had to begin from ruins, during the times, when the so called developed nations had won over the issues mentioned earlier.

Even though we had disadvantage in every field except population, but that didn’t mean we are going to be the same forever. In 60 years of independence, starting from morsel, with fragile infrastructure, now India is among the fastest growing economies in world. Everyone knows where India stands in the world with respect to power generation, forex reserve, transportation, irrigation, agriculture, unity, defensive strength, nuclear capability, export, commercial industries, technical capabilities, satellite launching, media and other realms. Even having over 1000 million population, so much illiteracy, political instability, religious sensitivity, defensive concerns and other quandaries, we have grown enormously. Given 60 years with so many restraints, I don’t think any country in the world can develop even fraction of what we have done. I can go on incessantly over this topic, but I will stop here and want you people to think over this and tell yourself whether India is a developed country or a developing nation?
